Ford of the Sorrel

Photographer Lucy Saggers
ISBN 9781908457684
B/W 270 x 290mm landscape + 180pp

Village life in England has rarely been photographed with such sensibility. Lucy Saggers’ home village of Ampleforth in North Yorkshire is perhaps best known for its Benedictine abbey and Catholic independent school, yet the village has its own character and history. IThe name Ampleforth means the ford where the sorrel grows and its population of little more than 1000, is a thriving rural community where livelihoods are very much based on the land. Lucy Saggers’ photographs are stunningly beautiful and have captured the many aspects of village life throughout the changing seasons.

The book is available as a standard hardback or with a 10″ x 8″ print of the cover signed by Lucy and strictly limited to 60 copies.
