In A World in Ruins, James Lacey has
travelled in search of a latent past,
to seek out what has been forgotten
and left behind and to share with us
the stories that these abandoned and
derelict buildings have to tell.
With their hints of bygone decades
– along with so many unanswered
questions – the photographs invite
you to walk inside and immerse
yourself in this magical world.
After years of neglect, these enigmatic
buildings are now ready for their new
use. They are ready to be photographed.

“A World in Ruins is a wonderful
read with great insight into the
subject. The book is informative and
draws you in with great imagery
and design throughout.”  Gina Soden – Fine Art Photographer

A fantastic well produced book of a high quality with some utterly stunning images. For any urban ex, historian or lover of abandoned buildings, this book is an absolute must!

I pre ordered this book from kick starter and it came the other day. At 300 pages long this book is full of photos of abandoned and derelict places, the old chemist is amazing. It’s rather weighty and the pictures look great on the paper. You really get your moneys worth with this book and I highly recommend this book if you’re interested in urbex or photography of abandoned places.
